Mustard Seed meal is approved for organic production and is rich in natural plant nutrients and amino acids.  Its formulation is 100% plant-derived, enhancing beneficial soil microbes such as Trichoderma spp., Streptomyces spp., Pseudomonas spp., Anthrobotrys spp., Plectosphaerella cucumerina, Dactylella oviparasitica, Paecilomyces lilacinus, and more. 

Increased microbial activity increases the availability of nutrients to the plant while reducing environmental and transplant stress.  They have also been shown to aid in protection from soilborne pathogens while helping to suppress weeds.  

We offer it in both milled and pelleted forms.  Milled allows for a quick release of nutrients while being rapidly consumed by microorganisms, creating a healthier soil.  Pellets are ideal for growers who desire a long-lasting, slow-release of nutrients.  They are the most desirable form for top- or side-dressing, potted horticulture, and backyard gardeners.

DIRECTIONS: 

Recommended for most pre-plant applications on the farm, garden, or container growing.

In the garden, apply 5 pounds per 100 sq. ft. or 45 pounds per 1,000 sq. ft.  On the farm, apply 2,000 pounds per acre.  Incorporate into the soil 3 weeks in advance for new starts and seeds.  Mustard Seed Meal is hot; do not apply it directly to the leaves. Water the area well after application.

Milled: Best applied by hand or by a drop spreader and thoroughly mixed into the soil. Water heavily once after the application. Due to its high oil content, careful consideration should be taken when using mechanized spreaders, as it may cause clumping or clogging of machinery. It is best spread during days with mild temperatures and low humidity to avoid clumping.

Pellets: Application can be done by hand or by a pellet spreader/injector. The pellets are strong and hold together well, minimizing breakage in mechanical spreaders. Water well after the application.

For container growing, apply to the soil surrounding established plants and water thoroughly.
