Squash Vine Borers are a serious pest for growers of giant pumpkins and other vine crops east of the Rocky Mountains.
SVB traps are a proven way to intercept the Squash Vine Borer in the moth stage. The SVB Trap comes complete with a durable plastic trap and an SVB lure to kill the moth. The new green color discourages beneficial pollinators, such as foraging bumblebees, from becoming trapped, while still maintaining the same effectiveness against the SVB moth. They also trap Spruce Budworm, Tussock Moth, Pine Shoot Moth, Cutworm, Armyworm, Beet Armyworm, Cabbage Looper, Nantucket Pine Tip Moth, Southwestern Corn Borer, and many other moths and beetles.
BENEFITS:
One generation of Squash Vine Borer per year is common in the Northern States, with the moths being active from mid-June through July. In the South, two generations may occur each year and can be active as early as March. Adult moths trapped this season mean less of a problem next year since larvae overwinter in the soil. One giant pumpkin grower has trapped up to 200 SVB Moths in a single season.
Once Squash Vine Borers start showing up in the traps, we also recommend spraying plants with our BioRepel, which is an all-organic pest control effective against a wide range of insect pests.

DIRECTIONS:
Squash Vine Borer Traps should be suspended at the crop's canopy level, about 10-25 feet from the plants on 1 to 4 sides of the garden, depending on size. The SVB Lures and Vapor Tapes work for 4 weeks and should be replaced every 30 days for best results. Extra Lures should be kept unopened and refrigerated (or cool) until use. Extra Vapor Tapes should be stored in a sealable bag and kept cool and dry. The Vapor Tapes have a shelf life of 4 years.
